Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - blusubaru - 02-07-2007 [quote JEBB]In Europe there is a station wagon in the Astra line. I wish they would bring that model to the US as well. That's what this one is trying to do... "In Europe, the Astra's combination of style, performance, safety technology and fuel efficiency have made it a hit with owners and auto critics alike," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn general manager. "Now, Saturn is bringing the newly restyled Astra to North America and marrying it with our celebrated customer experience." Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Racer X - 02-07-2007 Maybe something small and fast? (late '70s Buick Skyhawk) yes, that's an 8.88 second 1/4 mile dial-in. Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - jdc - 02-07-2007 i hope none of those cars are a lot larger, most of those on my list (except the malibu maybe) are pretty small Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - SteveJobs - 02-07-2007 can someone mock up a Subaru FUSTY car image? ![]() Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Racer X - 02-07-2007 Oh no, heII no. Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Big Daddy Cool - 02-07-2007 racerX, I still remember my mom's Olds Firenza (same car), except mom's was a bit slower and the headlights worked. Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Racer X - 02-07-2007 yeah, those are headlight decals. He can probably outrun the light photons anyway. Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Don C - 02-07-2007 "Active head restraints and collapsible pedals" Always a good idea to restrain those active heads. Never know what trouble they might get into if left unrestrained! I remember those days of covered dealer windows and a couple of weeks of hype beforehand. Those were the days of the growing FINS, and for several years the grand unveiling showed how much those tail fins had grown. I remember piling into the Studebaker and driving past the showrooms to see what was new. We'd drive by and then go home to a nice cup of hot chocolate. Dad sure didn't feel the need to keep up with that new sheet metal! Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - BigGuynRusty - 02-07-2007 [quote Racer X]Maybe something small and fast? The ones with a V8 (262CI, and 305CI available), in order to change the passenger side spark plugs, you had to unhook the motor mount and jack up the engine. Just like the Vega, they were quality crap! Yes, the Chevy dealership I worked for at the time in Albuquerque was responsible for all the crappy body kits and T-Top installations running around New Mexico. We installed body kits on the Monza, Camaro, El Camino, Firebird, SkyHawk, and all GM's badge brothers. Wings, spoilers, side skirts, and stripes, all crap. I personally cut at least 200 roofs for T-Tops, I feel so dirty! BGnR Re: 2008 Saturn Astra - Spock - 02-07-2007 In Europe you can get the Astra with a turbocharged diesel that will get close to 60 mpg. Isn't that the sort of gas milage we should expect this side of the pond? |
