Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - sekker - 05-16-2023 We had this issue, it was a bad connection on one of the side sensors. Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - pinkoos - 05-16-2023 Thanks for the replies, I'll give some of the suggestions a shot Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - Speedy - 05-16-2023 Make sure your pull cord isn’t catching somewhere. I had to duck tape over a bracket because the cord to pull the door shut would occasionally catch on said bracket. But the wheels really don’t need anything, metal on metal in this application is just fine. I use white lithium grease on mine. Perfect for this application. Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - Markintosh - 05-16-2023 I am almost certain that it has to do with the sensors "seeing" something or "not seeing" each other. The hypothesis of a spider web and a leaf hanging of the bottom of the door is an excellent suggestion, or a loose piece of the rubber sweep that should be attached at the bottom. Elsewise, sometimes our little sensors get kicked a bit or hot with a broom and are slightly out of alignment. For our installation they kind of just snap back into place easily. To me it seems that the roller bearings make more sense than the outside of the roller and track. Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - pinkoos - 05-16-2023 So it looks like there was a mess of twigs close to one of the sensors that I somehow missed We swept the whole area from sensor to sensor and everything seems to be working again for now, thanks for all the input, there was a lot of helpful information for normal maintenance to be performing Incidentally, when we got our new spring installed (it actually was a bit over 2 years ago, not 1 year like I had thought above), the installer told us to apply 3 in 1 garage door lube to the spring(s) and wheels once a month, so we've been doing that https://www.amazon.com/3-ONE-Professional-Lubricant-STRAW-SPRAYS/dp/B001E5DLVO/ref=asc_df_B001E5DLVO/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167136000613&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15837952909513970861&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9027599&hvtargid=pla-308607213731&psc=1 Re: Garage Door Opener Issue - C(-)ris - 05-17-2023 GGD wrote: Use a lightweight oil, not some form of grease or you’ll have problems in the winter.
