Re: Opinions, please: Money or Quicken? - LaserKun - 02-15-2007 Again (!), I have tried most of the personal finance/checkbook programs for Macs. Used Quicken since about version 1.3, and really liked it until about four years ago, it crashed and I lost some input. I still like its interface, etc. better than the rest I have tried. Here are some I am trying, as of today even: Quicken - hate Intuit, but want to like Quicken Moneydance - at least its stable, and I think fairly decent. Not as good as Quicken, imo. Liquid Ledger - whew, this one's not for checkbooks it seems to me anyway. iBank - same as above; not so good for me. Budget - envelopes?? I just want to see what looks like a checkbook register. Crown Money Management - idea is good, but don't know... trying it some now. MYOB Accountedge - way over kill for personal finance, but I used this for years when I did accounting for a non-profit. I love this program for that kind of heavy duty use. I actually own, as in paid for, Quicken 2004, Moneydance, MYOB, and Liquid Ledger. I guess we are stuck with Quicken for now anyway. I hope some of these others improve... Intuit is presently asking for their annual tax (upgrades) from its users! I don't mind paying for decent upgrades occasionally, but this is a little too much. |
