I personally find all sorts of cars with design languages an eye sore. The series of 'boxy' or 'box' cars including the Toyota Scion - just not a fan. The stated design language for the Cybertruck was derived from Blade Runner. I think the matte black color looks great. What many are missing with this external design exoskeleton is the cool underpinnings of the Cybertruck. They used structural design principles from SpaceX to build out the bed and core ( I think Honda is the only one using this approach at all), then added the outside panels (which are stainless steel). By design, it's more like a SpaceX rocket than a traditional truck made by Detroit. For auto fans, here's a great link from Sandy Munro: https://insideevs.com/news/487355/tesla-cybertrucks-structure-unique-sandy-munro/ One more on the CT design: https://medium.com/throughdesign/why-is-the-tesla-cybertruck-designed-the-way-it-is-b53a6acc8490 Will it be successful? I have no clue. But it's definitely different. Re: ‘ Even In Matte Black, The Tesla Cybertruck Still Looks Like Crap ‘ - btfc - 11-08-2023 Interesting links, thanks. Sandy Munro: “I look at it as something that could fulfill some pickup truck needs, more like a utility truck, similar to my existing Jeep (Wrangler Rubicon). The difference is that I can get my quads and my bikes in it, but I don’t think I would be hauling two-by-fours or material for building a house. If I wanted something like that, then I’d move toward the Rivian.” Re: ‘ Even In Matte Black, The Tesla Cybertruck Still Looks Like Crap ‘ - ka jowct - 11-08-2023 Lux Interior wrote: ![]() Nailed it.
