Re: Need help with Pioneer DVR-109 write error - iaJim - 04-16-2007 I had a similar problem with the original "Sony" DVD burner in my G5 tower. Apple store confirmed that it was dead, and they replaced it through Applecare. I wouldn't be surprised if your burner was dead. If there's no warranty issue, I'd do the firmware upgrade. Re: Need help with Pioneer DVR-109 write error - Jim Williams - 04-16-2007 I appreciate all the help. I bought a batch of HP 16X DVD-Rs at Staples today to test the "bad batch" idea mentioned by some of you. My Pioneer DVR-109 burned the first backup data DVD without a hitch. I don't have a need at the moment to test it further, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed. I have used TDK 16X DVD-Rs without a problem for quite some time. I was about half way through a stack of 100, so I didn't suspect a problem with the media. Thanks again for all the feedback. |
