[quote Carthaigh]Serious let down after last week. Alex is pretty hot. Chicks with their bloody hands inside of bunnies gets me very excited.
Does Glen Close and the stew pot count?

They will cover a lot in the special tonight. The creators/writers are giving us a recap of the show to date explaining all the things that they have shown us and we either didn't get them, see them, or remember seeing them.

What recap? You drinking again Racer X?

Glued, I need to re-watch that episode. Ring of ash.

10-11PM PST ABC this evening? And I usually wait to drink until the sun is over the yardarm in eastern Turkey (like 5 am PST)

My bad, 10:15 to 11:00 PM PST on ABC

The ring of ash, how does anyone know that is keeping the guy in there if he is so "great" as they say?

As for Locke, I think last week was his season cliffhanger.

Ask Carl.

pRON, rewatch the episode. It's dark, Ben and Locke have flashlights and are walking to Jacob's cabin. Ben purposely steps over a greyish 'line' on the ground. Locke notices Ben's actions, shines his flashlight on the 'line'. As he shines it left and right, we see the line curves inward in the direction that they're walking. Locke bends down to examine the 'line'. He picks some of it up and smells it. Ben interrupts Locke and tells him "Let's go, John."

It's pretty evident by it's texture that the substance is a powder or ash. In folklore, a ring of ash is used to confine a ghost or spirit. Jacob is at first invisible, then briefly transparent (like a ghost or spirit). Thus the surmise: "Jacob is trapped in his cabin by the ring of ash (remember Locke bending down to inspect after Ben carefully stepped over it)."

Thanks, I didn't know about the ash and ghost thing. My question still remains, if he is trapped then why is he so great as they all talk about him that way? It's just a guy in a stuck cabin as far as I am concerned ;-)
