US Cellular is what several friends use, and incoming calls are free.
Better coverage than ATT in fringe areas around here.

Give Sprint a try. Different frequency band, carrier technology and towers so the coverage is probably radically different than Nextel. That doesn't mean the coverage will be good in your area though but it is certain to be different.
But they're the same company so you can switch any time without early contract termination fees. They also offer free incoming plans.
