Zoid - how did you survive without a tv in the car?

I am against car-bloat. Always have been, always will be. Find me more than a handful of vehicles that haven't bloated with time (Lotus excluded). Visibility and consideration for other drivers are more important than owning the damn road. Tired of following oversized vehicles and not being able to see what's going on ahead of me. Not specifically related to the new, ClubmanPlus Mini, but it had to be said.

[quote davester]This is an SUV:

Not quite, but it was the closest thing 25 years ago. The 83 Blazer is more like a 4WD pickup with the camper shell welded on, and a second row of seats. Big Grin That was back when a Blazer only cost about 25% more than the comparable pickup, and the pickup was just about the cheapest vehicle in the lineup.

I always thought the Mini Cooper would look good scaled up as an SUV. It irks me that we now have the names switched, s/b Cooper Mini, Cooper Clubman, Cooper SUV

Yes, but it increases your survival chances in the event you become distracted and make a boo-boo, if your bumper is at the height of the other drivers' heads.
If you don't look out for yourself, you can't really expect anyone else to, you know?

Shame about that increase in the number of of bumper-on-head incidents and rollovers as a result.

The terms "Mini" and "SUV" put together make my head swim.

A stretch Mini, man is that thing ugly. Why can't they leave well enough along?

I thought you could still remove the shell on a '83 Blazer? I know some years you could but
I'm not sure which ones.

The Broncos where the ones the top came off of, but you had to tear the seal off.

"The K5 Blazer and Jimmy had removable tops for the first few years until 1976 when a half-cab body style was introduced."

I knew some people that had Blazers with removable tops so I didn't think I had lost it that bad ;-)
