Yes - that's right
The first name is the drives name and the second is the partitions
If you had made two partitions it would show both under the drive name
Drive Name
-Mac HD 1
-Mac HD 2
Now boot off the install disk and chose the partition name as your target to install the OS on.

Well, I did it the other way (through the erase tab) and now I am not sure if it did the GUID partition or not. Is there a way I can check that? It's checking my installation DVD for installation of the OS right now. Should I stop it and go back?

What OS & what mac are you installing ?
The GUID is for Intel based macs

as long as you did the first one then you are fine, forget about the GUID

The first time I did one I was kinda upset when it was done becuse I had the same frustrations.
It was too easy.
I didn't expect it to be, so I was sure I was doing everything wrong.
