Re: Utterly useless trivia: location of Sanford & Son? - incognegro - 02-29-2008 you might be surprised to learn... http://imdb.com/title/tt0057785/ Classic 1960s British comedy series about a middle aged man and his elderly father who run an unsuccessful 'rag and bone' business (collecting and selling junk). Harold (the son) wants to better himself but his father always seems to ruin things, sometimes accidentally and other times deliberately. The two live in poverty and the father has some disgusting habits which continue to embarrass the son. Re: Utterly useless trivia: location of Sanford & Son? - davester - 03-01-2008 Yup, Steptoe and son was one of our favorite sitcoms when I lived in England as a lad. Sanford and son was obviously a copy. Similarly, "All in the Family" was a direct copycat version of the 60s British comedy "Til Death Us Do Part", which had pretty much identical characters to the Archie Bunker family. |
