Obama would be wise to schedule an interview with O'Rielly too. Obama was already on Fox news. Which host? Oh yeah, I forget the guy's name. He had an "Obama watch" going, counting the hundreds of days (around 900 days I think) hours, and minutes that Obama has declined the invitation. I got a glimpse of the interview, it was good, but I'd forgotten he'd done it. Re: Hell Freezes Over...[ Hillary Clinton on O'Rielly ] - davester - 05-01-2008 The problem with going on O'Reilly is that he has a record of shouting down his interviewees and occasionally cutting their mikes when he starts losing the argument. I bet the candidates insisted on some stringent rules that didn't allow him to do that. I dislike O'Reilly and some of the other Fox commentators because they do the exact opposite of the Daily Show. Even though O'Reilly and Jon Stewart are both comedians (though O'Reilly doesn't realize it), O'Reilly's schtick is abusing and using unfair means to belittle his interviewees and cut off their explanations, whereas Stewart generally uses pretty civil debate tactics and allows his conservative interviewees to have their say. I think it's pretty funny that the closest analog to a supposedly serious Fox News program is a comedy show. I saw the "interview", and there were several people at different locations, and one would absolutely not shut up. What would you do? Daily Show is funny, but I think it's worse because he acts like he has no agenda but to be funny, when he obviously does. O'Reilly admits his show is largely about his own opinion. kj. Re: Hell Freezes Over...[ Hillary Clinton on O'Rielly ] - guitarist - 05-02-2008 While those personal opinions about O'Rielly or his style as a host have merit, none of that was in evidence during the Clinton appearance. It was straight, a textbook TV News Show interview. You've got to be kidding. Stewart is unabashedly biased towards liberal issues throughout the show, especially during interviews with conservative guests. Every single sketch he does, bar none is anti-right-wing (note that I didn't say anti-conservative...there are no conservatives in the administration). He just doesn't use the hit-you-with-a-sledgehammer "I hate everything liberal" diatribes of obnoxious guys like O'Reilly or frauds like Limbaugh. He has much better comedic nuance than either of those blathering buffoons. Re: Hell Freezes Over...[ Hillary Clinton on O'Rielly ] - Dennis S - 05-02-2008 "with Fox News, Rupert Murdoch discovered an untapped niche audience. Half the country". That's about the same number as the people who watch professional wrestling. Coincidence? Re: Hell Freezes Over...[ Hillary Clinton on O'Rielly ] - kj - 05-02-2008 >>You've got to be kidding. Stewart is unabashedly biased towards liberal issues throughout the show, especially during interviews with conservative guests. That's not really what I said. I've seen him be reluctant to admit there is anything serious about his show or that he is trying to influence people. He says things to the effect that, "it's just a stupid show." >>That's about the same number as the people who watch professional wrestling. Coincidence? I'd be pretty surprised if half the country watches pro wrestling. kj.
