My guess is that it would shatter, like glass. It is a clasic visco-elastic response.

I meant that it was formed by hand, not as a contiguous piece to create a ball or form as it is when it is bought.

It broke where hands formed it poorly. Perhaps it would have bounced as a ball, if the pressure and formation process equiv to a piece formed by hand.
