Chupa's point. Healthcare workers like my lovely wife are taught to:
Turn on the water.
Soap up.
Scrub for at least the first verse of "old McDonald".
Get paper towel.
Dry hands
turn off water with paper towel
open door with paper towel
toss paper towel in trash as you leave.
I'll open the door with a sleeve or tissue when they don't have paper towels. I prefer those restrooms that just have a light-trap hallway instead of doors.

My four-year-old blows out the candles of her birthday cake as we sing "Happy Birthday."
"I like that song," she says. "Why do germs hate it so much?"
Huh?
"At nursery school, every time we wash our hands they make us sing that song to get the germs to go away."

Didn't save much energy doing that but the process is supposed to be much more efficient than the normal air driers as no heat is used. My old skin looked weird during the process as the thin jet of air comes out at 400mph.
I discovered one of these at a local Home Depot bathroom about a week ago.
Great way to feel old-- it deforms your skin such that it looks like it's hanging off of you like a 90-something.

When I worked in the bakery of a grocery store, I decorated cakes, we were told to "sing" happy birthday 2x to make sure we were washing for long enough, no mention of using the towels to open the door or turn off the water. Good thing too, since about 50% of the time there were no towels in the bathroom. Luckily the bakery also had a sink in it so I'd wash my hands again in the bakery before starting work.
In public restrooms I prefer paper towels as usually the dryers don't dry my hands well enough. Of course at home I use cloth towels to dry my hands.

I haven't seen a Dyson dryer, but I've used a couple of "high speed" dryers that really blast the water off your skin. It's cool, but the door handle is still gonna be yucky..
