My two recent scores are an aluminum presentation easel complete with paper pad clip for $2 ($110.00 online) and a 15" cut x-acto paper cutter for $3 ($82 online).
Around here (Portland) we have a ton of Goodwill stores, plus the Goodwill Outlet where you can buy your junk by the pound.

Our Goodwill keeps all the cords to everything in a pile behind the counter so people can't steal them. Then, when you do want to buy something, they tell you they don't know if the cords to it are back there or not and they won't let you dig through to see if you can find them. It's just moronic.

I am planning on a visit to our nearby Salvation ARmy store. Never been to one. But have been told their stores have larger inventories.

A long time ago I found a copy of Filemaker Server 3.0 for $5... which I resold for $200 (I think FileMaker 5.0 had just come out).
Mostly these days I find they overpriced and probably dead inkjet printers.

closest Goodwill to me is 33 miles away (as the crow flies), it's at least a 45 minute ride.
The Salvation Army places around here aren't what they used to be.
Not uncommon to see Mercedes pulled up to the donation boxes and they aren't putting stuff in to the boxes.
