Based on a previous thread about someone buying non-Mac-specific Crucial RAM from buy.com (I believe), and it not working and needing to be swapped out by Crucial, I'd pay extra for Mac-spec'd RAM. Otherwise, you might save $8, but you might also cause yourself several headaches.
Personally, I only buy RAM from DMS (datamem.com) and OWC (macsales.com), both of which have lifetime warranties and great customer service. I don't even bother to price-compare them to other vendors, just to each other.

I'm with Gareth. period.
RAM is too critical to play the "find the lowest $". Buy from the source that will be there for you if trouble appears.

Also, your time may be worth more than the bother, if there is a hitch in the git-along.
RAM is one of the few areas where spending a few extra dollars down the road and forgetting about it is a viable practice.
And RAM is practically a commodity. Prices can vary week by week, sometimes more frequently.
Not too long ago that 4G Kit was under $90.

Have bought my RAM from OWC since I first came across them ages ago. Have only once had a bad stick and they overnighted me a replacement. YMMV, as always, but I'll stick with OWC, and always recommend them.
