Remember, spiders = good. They eat other (less desirable) buggies. We have WAY too many buggies down here, and not enough spiders.

All spiders have some amount of venom with varying degrees of potency.

Are those orb-spinners? If so they get pretty big.

My S/O will not let me neither chase them off or squash'm. But then she sheiks when she sees a black widow!

good for her, kap. As PeterB pointed out, they're good. Should I find one in an inconvenient place, I kindly escort it outside via piece of paper and upside down glass. I once relocated a black widow and her egg sacks from the bottom of my driveway to an empty field a block or so away.

Spiders outside = good.

Spiders inside = bad/squish.

Re: Baby animals!! - Stephanie - 05-31-2008

GeneL - why squish? It's easy enough to let them go about their business or escort them outside. They're harmless and they do lots of good. I'd rather have them around the house than bugs.

Sorry Stephanie, but the risk of getting a spider bite is too off-putting for me.

With all the other problems that I have, I don't need to worry about spiders as well.

as I said, outside is fine.

That is exactly what I ... that's right. Not her! ... have to do every time a spider is found, esp. Daddy Long Leg.

Um, but most spiders won't bite.

I've lived in NM for 25 yrs & we have all sorts of fun creepy crawlies & I've encountered my fair share of black widows (indoors and out).

NEVER even come close to getting bitten.

Are these spiders that you're killing known to bite or are they just common, every day varieties that don't bite?
