The end unit on my row of townhomes has their AC unit sitting on a bracket hung off the side wall of the house. Since the ground slopes quite a bit from front to back there is no easy way to get a level surface for it to sit on. It's kinda ugly though, at least the way theirs is, but you could probably do better.
