How do you restore this secret partition if you format your drive or swap it out for a new one? What if your drive dies? I hope they still provide the hardware CDs. Re: Tip: Diagnostics available without Leopard DVD - RAMd®d - 08-25-2008 If you use the Restore disc or probably a clone, you should be able to reformat without losing the utilities. There is *nothing* to suggest that there will be no more DVDs. This is just a great way to expedite running the AHT without having to boot from a disk, which takes forever. I wonder if the utilities are actually *hidden*. If not, this would be great to add to a Retail install which lacks this ability. |
