you can see in fact they are grouped in 5x5 larger blocks. look at the lines in between and you'll see a pattern.

To complement the beach theme see if there is a surfboard version of one (or more) of these to prop up in a corner. http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,575580

Just increasing exposure of other's tips and deals .

Edit: They [did] come in 12 inch squares connected to each other for ease of application.
I still have some leftover sheets in a box on a shelf in the basement.

It's not like someone sat there with a bunch of 3/4 inch mosaic tile and purposefully laid down that pattern.

Jardster, I really like that kind of tile, and I like that color scheme. It looks like it's in good shape and with a little work on the grout it'll clean up nicely.

My house was built in 1952 and the bathroom had been remodeled with horrible oak lavatory, cabinet, towel rod, etc. and sort-of saltillo tile on the floor. I'd love to remodel it back to something like it would have looked new. My friends recently did their bathroom with that kind of tile pattern in shades of green (not avocado!) and with Ikea fixtures - looks great.

We have the same tile (slightly diff. color combo) in our house we built in 1966. It has been kept clean and still looks good. My wife has re-decorated the bathroom several times over the years with various wallpapers and paint schemes, all of which have turned out well without changing the tile. The tub/shower walls are all white tile squares of the same material, so changing ours would just involve the floor, but it hasn't happened.

It's very good durable tile. I'd think long and hard before I would replace mine.

I hate everything that reminds me of the early 60s townhouse hell I grew up in-- carpeted stairs, electric burners, sliding closet doors perpetually off their tracks, patio doors; however that tile brings back fond memories.
Keep it!
