Re: STOP!! Don't Buy That DVD Burner Yet! - Panopticon - 03-08-2006 blusubaru, $32AR shipped @ Meritline.com or $36 shipped @ Newegg but no rebate. I'm not a fan of Lightscribe, prefer the color from my R200. DL writing at 8x on + or - media & the Bit Set ability is a great addition, along with the 5X DVD-RAM (if you can find the discs!). Ken , yeah the Lite-On. I like their drives too! Re: STOP!! Don't Buy That DVD Burner Yet! - blusubaru - 03-08-2006 I'm with you, I print on my Epson R300 and have no need for a LS burner. I got rid of all of my DVD-Ram hardware and discs four years ago and haven't looked back. But $36 for the old one is a fairly good deal. Re: STOP!! Don't Buy That DVD Burner Yet! - Filliam H. Muffman - 03-08-2006 Two new drives just started shipping, one is the IO Data ABM16G 12x DVD RAM drive, and the other is the Plextor PX769A 18X DVD-RW drive. Re: STOP!! Don't Buy That DVD Burner Yet! - timg - 03-08-2006 Funny, but my flashed DVR-110D will write to DVD-RAM at 5X too. When I was looking, I couldn't find a DVR-110 or an NEC ND-4550A (both support DVD-RAM) available to buy. So, I did the next best thing, buy a DVR-110D and flash it! Why don't companies want to ship DVD-RAM capable drives to the US market? Re: STOP!! Don't Buy That DVD Burner Yet! - SeattlePhotog - 03-12-2006 Hi Gang, Sorry...I just posted this in another LightScribe thread...but this thread looked promising too. Which LightScribe enabled burners can be used as replacements for the Mac's internal drive? I thought that LaCie was the only company with Mac support. Can any LightScribe drive be used as long as you have some Mac software? Thanks! |
