Re: Will Quicksilver 733 fully run hard drives bigger than 120 GBs? - Buzz - 04-10-2009 we have a very well performing, though not very quiet QS 800 dually, that was royal pain in the butt until Applecare finally rebuilt it from the ground up after the G5's were out... we've always run bigger drives off of a Sonnet card, but since the guts were replaced late in the game, what are the odds the *new* mobo bus will support big drives? methinks a drive swapping project is in the offing... after the Applecare redo, it has been an incredible machine, extra storage capacity would be a nice bonus. There might also have been a 867 Educ QS model, but not one I recall. There was an Educ model of the 867 MDD with a single processor as I recall. Standard was a dual 867 MDD. There were a number of "odd-ball" Educ configurations offered at times, especially through the institutional sales listings. I got to see quite a few through my former job, but no longer have easy access to those. |
