Re: Help- Which telephoto lens to get? - microchip - 04-10-2009 Faster lens. Get the F2.8. Re: Help- Which telephoto lens to get? - Z - 04-10-2009 Faster lens, or find an older Minolta G glass? http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=47 or, of course, you could just go big - http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=24 ![]() I think the fork-lift point is hidden, but still a nice feature. ![]() Re: Help- Which telephoto lens to get? - -jeffB - 04-10-2009 I liked to shoot things that I COULDN'T get closer to, and I decided that I needed the 400mm range. (I'm in Canon-land, so I got a 100-400mm f/4-5.6.) I deeply and continually regret not getting the 70-200/f2.8. But I would've deeply and continually regretted getting it instead of the 100-400, too. You really, really need both. ![]() Re: Help- Which telephoto lens to get? - Mr645 - 04-11-2009 Some Sony lenses are Zeiss designs, some Minolta, some Sony and some Tamron. The 70-200 Sony is an excellent lens, on par with anything from Canon or Nikon. AF should work excellent with a 1.4x giving you a 320mm F4 zoom and a 2x giving you 400mm F5.6 and working AF, but probably not as well as a regular 400mm F5.6 lens. Optically your going to give up a bit with the 2x converter. |
