Re: Got four legged pets? Honda to begin offering pet-oriented options. - MikeF - 10-13-2009 Although the ramp is a good idea for older, less agile pets -- ours used to be able to jump into the back of the SUV, but no longer can -- and it's a royal pain lifting an 80 lb. dog. Re: Got four legged pets? Honda to begin offering pet-oriented options. - kap - 10-13-2009 That soft fabric black box ain't gonna last with our 12 lbs terrier mutt. He broke his tooth trying to break out of a wired cage during a crate training! Also, it's easier to rescue a dog trapped in a hot car if it could be seen in the car. Re: Got four legged pets? Honda to begin offering pet-oriented options. - RAMd®d - 10-14-2009 Why would anybody think this is *supposed* to be a one-size-fits-all solution? This sounds a lot like the complaining about the iPod and G4 iMac when they came out. No, it's *not* going to work for everybody. But my buddy's Lab would love the carpet. Only one data point, but then so are all the others. I suppose Honda should offer a steel cage version with built-in Taser to control poorly trained, ill-mannered pets. And maybe nobody keeps their pet long enough for them to get old, but that ramp could be very handy for not only an old or injured pet, but one who is starting to age and really doesn't need to be Rin TIn Tin. I think this is a really good start, and there will be a lot of people who will benefit. Those who won't would hopefully have the common sense not to by that version. You know- don't by a Miata and then complain it won't hold your 6 kids. Similar principle. For some people a pickup truck and camper shell will be the only thing that will work for their particular pet. But for a lot of others, the Honda will be just right. Re: Got four legged pets?
