Since I only had 7 apps installed under XP (Boot Camp) and only one requires any sort of authorization, that's not a big deal to me.
It is a PITA in other ways, tho. For example, I got a downloadable upgrade from MS, but since I didn't buy it directly from their online store I couldn't get an iso to make a bootable image from. If/when I have to install again, I'm going to have to install XP first. Not horrible. Just annoying. I've got a WinClone backup of the XP partition.
'Downloaded and doing the upgrade today on my MBP in-between other stuff. I hear the actual install time should be a half hour or so for a setup like mine, but the preliminaries are taking all morning.

Couple of funny things I noticed from the today show -
The big monitor behind Lauer and Ballmer, that had the Windows 7 logo on it, showed a previous gen MacBook Pro.
Also, there was hardly any information about Windows 7 aside from the fact that it was new, and Ballmer was unable to avoid a few questions where Matt asked about the iPhone and Apple. If Jobs was on, I doubt they would ask him about about Windows Mobile 6.5.1.
It's humorous to me how a company with that much market share can consistently be a follower and not a leader.

Funny how everyone here craps on it without using it, just because it is microsoft. Sort of reminds me of all the PC users I know who bash Macs without ever trying one. I've been using Windows 7 on one machine for months now, and it is a beautiful OS. Very slick, fast and easy to use. Most of my computers are macs, but for the PCs I use, they will be getting an upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as possible.
