We have a 32" in our livingroom too. Replaced the 27" crt.
Let's face it, tv is crap- why do you want to see crap, larger?

32" in the BR, 42" in the LR.

32" isn't too big, our viewing distance is about 16'. Typical viewing distance for a set that size is about 9-12'.

Whatever fits your room though.

27" and tell the wife it's really 32"

If the dresser is against the foot of the bed, 24"-26" will be fine.
If it's a few feet from the foot of the bed, then 26" to 32".
Not a popular consideration, but think about energy usage too-- a 24" is like having two 40- watt incandescent bulbs burning, a 32" is like having three 60- watt incandescent bulbs burning. Fun chart:

I've got a 25" CRT TV near the end of my bed.

As in one of the example's Black mentions, my TV is on a stereo cabinet against an opposite wall which is three feet from the end of my bed. That puts the viewing distance at about nine feet. Really smaller than I want with the 25" XBR.

Since it's 4:3 and any flatscreen will be 16:9 or so, I need a set larger than 25" or the images won't be as tall. It will be like going from a 25" to a 20".

A 32" widescreen will give me a picture with the same height as my XBR, and be a bit wider. It will not be nearly as overwhelming as some people might think.

32" Living Room LCD
26" Bedroom LCD

I have a 37" in the bedroom at about 10 ft distance and I feel it is just right.

In the living room I have a 42" also at about 10 ft distance. I wouldn't mind going up to 50" but the 42 is fine also.

Huh...timely thread. Was just debating today getting a 40" or 46" for the bedroom.

About 12' viewing distance

Wife of course says "what's wrong with the current tv?"...27" CRT
