I don't have any new iPods, I stopped at the Red iPod Nano 2 gen. I would bet that this would work with newer models - all it takes is a dock connector. Unless Apple really changed the pinout arrangement between these newer models and the older models, this device should work OK.

My iPod photo should qualify.
And one review said it works with the 2G iPod Touch, so if it works with my 'Phone then it's an additional perk.

Shipping is $9.88, almost the price of the item itself!
So when I ordered two, the total shipping came to-- $9.88! WTF!!
How am I supposed to engage in conspicuous spending if they don't charge me shipping for each item instead of both of them! How can capitalism survive without pillaging my wallet?!

Actually, no, just because it's a dock connector does not mean it will work. Many dock-based items will just give an error on the iPod screen. Apple changed from allowing 12V charging to only going with 5V and that threw off a lot of iPod accessory makers, speaker docks, etc. Bose Sounddock comes to mind, they had to redesign because of that.

One of the reviewers on icraveit appears to be using it with an iPod Touch, suggesting you need to turn off WiFi on the Touch to "prevent stuttering".

If the system uses Bluetooth, then can it be paired with any Bluetooth source?
I wonder if you could stream to it using a Bluetooth equipped computer, not just the iPod dongle.
Has anyone tried this?

Griffin's web site says the BlueTrip receiver is not compatible with other Bluetooth devices, but it also has a Q&A which talks about the transmitter working with Bluetooth headphones.

No. The BlueTrip receiver only functions with the included BlueTrip transmitter module for iPod.
Does the transmitter connect to the top or bottom of the iPod?
BlueTrip attaches to the top of the iPod.
In addition, the photo on Griffin's site for the transmitter shows one on the top of an iPod, but the iCraveit site shows one designed to go on the bottom of an iPod.
Confusing.

OK, took a bit of looking around.
The original BlueTrip had a top mount transmitter. Came out just when Apple dropped the top power port, so they re-released it with a bottom mount (dock connector) transmitter. The latter is the BlueTrip LE. It does not say "LE" on the box, but does have a photo of the bottom mount transmitter.
Also, apparently Griffin's web site contradicts what's in the box.

Note: on a Mac you need OS 10.5 or later for this to work properly.
