(which yes, this would be free if the deal worked out). Think I'll hold out for another G5 XServe I can afford... That's easier! Still... I'll see if the SATA card I have in a PC at work just happens to be one that will work in a G4 XServe (not likely... but hey, if it is, and I could make it work...). I think just a year or so ago, they were still going for $200-300 each, now they're around $70. Also, remember the Xserve G4s have Firewire 800 ports, so if you have a spare external drive case you can use, that's an option, though that kind of wrecks the sleek 1U elegance of the whole setup. |
