I've seen something similar used by truck drivers. They claim it's for thumping tires to somehow check their worth (or maybe a legal way to carry a club). Although, the ones I've seen had handles carved into them.

My wife says parts of a moveable loom . . . did she weave?
:dunno:

Hopefully, even though I am in the UK, there will still be someone who will pipe up with a "I know what they are!"

They are painted sticks!

Sticks for knocking apples off a tree.

Bit over the top in quality to knock apples from trees.

No, she wasn't a teacher.

Jimmy, "painted sticks"? I was expecting something a bit more creative from you. Wink

Not part of a loom, we know about looms.

Not percussion instruments.

They are too precisely made for clubs etc.

I say they are government approved nightsticks

They're money. Somebody will pay a lot for them on ebay.

Are the ends painted? I'm wondering if the sticks were painted before or after they were cut to length.

Prop open windows with broken sashes?

Used for hand washing clothes?

Used to beat a rug clean?

That is what I am hoping but I need to know what they are first to know where to list them. I don't expect much but every little helps these days.
