Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - incognegro - 01-15-2008 interesting to note: iBook G3 466 SE http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/stats/ibook_se_466.html Original Price: US$1799 Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - guitarist - 01-15-2008 [quote zachdog]Wow, no DVD player in the Apple TV. I need less set-top boxes under my TV, not more. Let's see... cable box, DVD player, PS2, VCR, and an Apple TV. Really? Not for me. Give me a DVD player in that box. Plus, if it recorded video I could ditch the VCR. No thanks. You didn't ditch your VCR five years ago when the rest of us did? THIS is why online HD movie rentals have no immediate threat of killing BluRay. People really do want to have a physical disc, and play it in a physical disc player. Blu Ray will definitely have a wide niche, as most people aren't going to use the internet to watch rental movies, they'll still want real discs. And a high definition format everyone can agree on, and is standardized and makes sense when they shop for players and look for content to play on it. If Jobs had announced the AppleTV "now features a built in optical drive! You can play discs in it, too!" half the people in the audience would want to aim a gun at Steve and shoot him (and the other half would want to embrace him "oh Steve, thank you! We WANT a DVD-player-slash-AppleTV-slash-Bluetooth-keyboard connected-slash-Game Console-slash-VCR-etc.." Thank GOD they didn't build a dang optical drive into the Apple TV! Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - M A V I C - 01-15-2008 Environmental highlights: fully aluminum case (good for recycling) Because we all think about spending $2k on a computer and then recycling it. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - Chupa Chupa - 01-15-2008 [quote Gareth]hmm... not even an ethernet port. And I wonder if the battery is user replaceable? Looking at the pic above the batt may not be user replaceable, which would be strike two and three for me. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - macbeergeek - 01-15-2008 Here comes the build-up for "one more thing..." Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - dotman - 01-15-2008 well we just got att in our market, so I was hoping for 16gb iphone. oh well. dot. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - Chupa Chupa - 01-15-2008 Wow. That's it? Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - dotman - 01-15-2008 oh, i'm sure they'll sell you a battery chupa. or a third party will. dot. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - AllGold - 01-15-2008 Ok, I'm guessing from the pictures and because this is freakin' Steve we-don't-need-user-replaceable-batteries Jobs that the battery isn't swappable or even user replaceable. Again, I'm just guessing but it's a very very very big negative if it's true. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - will2000 - 01-15-2008 One more thing: The New Cube! |
