Looks like Kevin Rose was dead on about pricing. $600 on a phone is a bit steep given the planned obsolescence and being tied to Cingular. I wonder if there are other discounts or if Cingular has a contractual obligation to sell for list.

Most high-end phones cost that much and more unsubsidized.
