0.5 Pentels

I think they've lasted me since the mid 80s

Between the Wife and me, we have more than enough Pentels mechanical pencils. She likes 0.5 because she writes lightly. I prefer 0.7 or 0.9 because I tend to press down, which brings up another question: do you prefer softer or harder pencil grade? I like H or 2H lead. Send picture of your favorite mechanical pencil.

In college I used 0.3mm Pentels. As I aged, I moved back up to 0.5mm, then 0.7mm.

Now I stick with a plain #2 yellow pencil. Why ?

Because I can stick it behind my ear and it's light enough to stay there. I am an engineer, but I don't wear a pocket protector and I got tired of the mechanical pencil sticking holes in my shirt pockets.

Ticonderoga's are great. They even have an eraser that erases instead of just smudging.

Yep. Still using a Pentel P207 (0.7mm) that is about 25 years old.
