I think Reid is just trying to start some rumors to increase public pressure on Romney to release his returns...He wouldn't be stonewalling if he wasn't hiding something, so you might as well accuse him of something radical (like not paying taxes at all) so that he has the obligation to prove otherwise.

This is what I was going to say, but you probably said it better than I would have. And he didn't even use a chart.

He did, it was in his head. He just failed to post it.

Swampy: where is your retraction on this?

Can't retract something that is ture. He has not released his college transcripts. FactCheck even says so.

I don't think Obama is in any way obligated to prove what his grades were in College. This is just a bunch of racists trying to make it appear that he was an unworthy beneficiary of Affirmative Action. There is no valid reason for him to cater to bigots.

Maybe if it was customary for all the beneficiaries of Legacy Admissions to release their transcripts this would have some kind of precedence, but in fact it is just one more piece of racist BS.

He's the President of the United States. More of us wanted him to be President than didn't want him to be President, so there it is.

" Obama hasn’t released them, but neither have other presidential candidates released their college records. George W. Bush’s grades at Yale eventually became public, but only because somebody leaked them to the New Yorker magazine. Bush himself refused to release them, according to a 1999 profile in the Washington Post."

And Mitt Romney has not released his. Nobody is asking for that, are they? We know he has degrees, fine.
Grades earned 30-40 years ago are not going to tell us much.

Taxes paid in the past 5-10 years tell us quite a lot.

Swampy does not care about holding any GOP candidate accountable to the same standards as Obama. Once she rails on Mitt with the same vigor she does about Obama, pigs will fly.

Independent voter, my foot.

John Dough it would be interesting to hear your thoughts and opinions on the topic at hand but swampy can express her own.

My thoughts are that he has skeletons in his financial closet that will make him unelectable. Under the current law, it is probably legal, but highly questionable when so many of the companies he bought directly created US unemployment. His past is catching up with him and I do not feel bad for one minute that it is biting him now.

When there is so much smoke coming from the Romney camp that you cannot even see, for some it is a perfect time to make this somehow an issue about anything else but that.
