It's Gooooood stuff, man ! Re: Lara Logan (CBS) on al Qaeda and Afghanistan - Speedy - 10-12-2012 mrlynn wrote: The aims were correct and laudable. The execution was often faulty, because of mistaken assumptions and the inevitable fog of war. We did liberate tens of millions from Saddam's vicious tyranny, and we stopped him and Quadafi from developing nuclear weapons. I'd like to have seen royalties from Iraq's oil (to pay for our work), and I think leaving Iraq virtually in the hands of Iran is going to be a huge mistake. But that's the current crop of geniuses. /Mr Lynn Don't forget those WMD's. And the 4000 troops who died for a lie. We should partition the place and let people vote with their feet. It's Gooooood stuff, man ! Morphine takes fourth place behind most other opiates. Re: Lara Logan (CBS) on al Qaeda and Afghanistan - mick e - 10-12-2012 And another thing. The REAL reason they don't come "over here" any more is because they might be reminded of their cheerleading for one of the most horrendously incompetent, corrupt and destructive administrations in history. They don't want to accept responsibility for the havoc and wreckage that their willful ignorance enabled over the past decade +. They don't want to accept responsibility for the havoc and wreckage that their willful ignorance enabled over the past decade +. Rubbish. I don't come over here much because there is no point in endless back-and-forth wranging with rude, ad-hominem-slinging leftists ike 'mick e', with whom there is no prospect of rational discussion, or of changing what passes for a mind. But thanks, 'mick e', for this description of the current administration, led (from behind) by The Puppet President: "the most horrendously incompetent, corrupt and destructive administration in history." /Mr Lynn Re: Lara Logan (CBS) on al Qaeda and Afghanistan - mick e - 10-12-2012 If there's no point in it, then why did you just engage in same? Seriously - mick e has openly criticized Obama on things warranted. Things like continued domestic spying and other illegal surveillance, violations of civil rights, escalation of global instability through illegal drone attacks, etc. - all programs that Obama promised to end when he ran for president. mick e criticizes him - and will NOT be voting for him, btw - because he has taken the time to understand what is REALLY going on in the world, and what the ramifications of an imposed global regime truly are. You seem to be happy to play "team ball" and in your comic hypocrisy deem Obama as a "puppet president" all while turning a blind eye to the one that defined the term. The one that you heartily supported. Take the time really appreciate the truth, Mr Lynn. Take some time to understand that for the smorgasbord of abuses that are occurring now under Obama, it was the Bush Administration that set the table and cooked the meal. Have a great day! George W. Bush was (and is) no puppet. The folks who "set the table and cooked the meal" were the Islamofascists, and they are still in the kitchen, preparing tasty new poisons for the head-in-the-sand liberals who think we can retreat from the world and be safe. /Mr Lynn Re: Lara Logan (CBS) on al Qaeda and Afghanistan - mick e - 10-12-2012 Did you seriously break out the old "Islamofascist" saw? REALLY???? Re: Lara Logan (CBS) on al Qaeda and Afghanistan - Speedy - 10-12-2012 Fascism brings to mind the Bush Administration. |
