Charlie M. Is faking his mental retardation as part of his act as a Troll. He is very successful at it, both because everyone reacts as he hopes they will AND because he is just retarded enough to stick the landing.

I just wanted to keep the plan I already had, which I chose carefully and which fully met my needs. But some farging politician maroons decided they know better, so now I'll be forced to choose from among worse offerings.

Ah, the trolls come out of the woodwork. Kindly explain to us what exactly is going to cause you to be forced to choose a worse plan than the one you have? Be specific. Troll? Are you referring to yourself, or me? I'm the one who made a true statement of my situation, while you're the one who started off with name-calling. I am disinclined to waste any time on you.

kd, I think there are a number of us who would like to know why you cannot keep the plan you already had. If you already had insurance, the open enrollment does not affect you at all. You don't have to change your plan. That's a fact.

Not according to my insurance company, who waited until yesterday to tell me: "Your current plan is a non-grandfathered plan, and will no longer be available starting in January. You will be able to move to another plan at that time. Learn more at our website."

I looked at all of their 2014 offerings, and all are inferior to the one I have now, in the sense that I would choose my current plan over any of the new ones based on deductibles, co-pays, provider restrictions and so on. Also, it looks like the only plan that will be offered to me on the exchange is Medicaid, which is not appealing to me.

So they have eliminated one of their plans and want you to accept another one of their plans. That's on them, or am I missing something?

I was going to say the same thing as $tevie, but thought it so obvious that it doesn't need to be said, but apparently it does- your beef is with your ins.co. but if you can't see that then you have been successfully blinded by the republican rhetoric.

So you're being offered 100% comprehensive coverage for which you will pay nothing. Why is that not appealing to you?

The plan was eliminated because it doesn't conform to the requirements of the ACA.
