By the third round, it was clear Mayweather was going to be successful in playing defense for nine more rounds. By the seventh, it was obvious Pacquiao wasn’t going to be able to get him down. The announcement that Mayweather was the victor was an inevitability. Pacquiao was the loser, but he had company. All of us were too. Most had watched the classic end to the Spurs-Clippers Game 7 before flipping over to the fight. It had action, unpredictability and “did you see that?!” moments. Basically it was the exact opposite of Mayweather-Pacquiao. Oh, and it didn’t cost $99.95. I don't get the complaints. Apparently Mayweather won in the same manner he always wins. Guess people wanted the other guy to win??? Re: Mayweather remains undefeated and.. - Onamuji - 05-05-2015 silvarios wrote: At least one's a misogynist and both are homophobic. Re: Mayweather remains undefeated and.. - RgrF - 05-05-2015 I spent many years coaching and teaching youth basketball/football and for all of those years character counted. In fact it counted more than winning. If any of my players didn't have the backbone to back off their obnoxious, win orientated parents then I would and the players knew that. Those problems resolved themselves once the players learned they had a right to speak for themselves. Eventually the loudmouths learned from their children that they weren't a part of the game and their behavior embarrassed the players; they learned to shut up. Despite the demarcation some of you would have, character counts more than wins. No, the complaints with the actual fight, not the political commentary. Seemed like it went exactly how boxing knowledgeable people were expecting. Exacerbated by the challenger's injury. That's another problem. With no chance of taking Mayweather out, it was exploitation of the fans. A money-grab. The only sport was in fleecing people out of their hard earned cash. |
