Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - Lemon Drop - 08-09-2016 So he's never heard of Sharron Angle and "Second Amendment remedies" and all that? His excuse for the comment could make sense if all of that had not happened and if "second amendment remedies" had not entered Republican political language. But it did, so there is no excuse. And Elizabeth Warren's response is the best. Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - Dennis S - 08-09-2016 I would love to see that bastard thrown in jail. I have a feeling he's got the Mother of All Audits in his future. Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - Lemon Drop - 08-09-2016 pdq wrote: I can't imagine it either. What makes it dangerous is that he'd be POTUS. Our crazy uncles can't do much damage. Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - Ombligo - 08-10-2016 This reprehensible statement, whether intended as a threat or not can not and should not be excused. Trump has not only endangered Clinton (which a sizable portion of sick individuals in his flock will applaud), but he has endangered the men and woman of the US Secret Service charged with guarding her. These brave individuals have pledged their lives to protect their charges. They don't care about that person's politics, just doing their duty. Their job is hard enough and dangerous enough without someone enflaming the unstable of society. This is not a lowly representative or senatorial candidate blathering idiocy, Trump is running for what is arguably the most powerful position in the world. Nations will listen too and react to what that person says. A presidential candidate must be aware of and held accountable for the words they choose to use. Donald Trump chose to use the words he did, they can not be taken back or ignored - he owns them. I just hope and pray that no one has to pay the price for them. Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - SteveG - 08-10-2016 Local NYC Fox affiliate newscast swings into action. Gives a brief summary of Trump assassination threats and then starts doing four different totally marginal 'Hillary email' slanders. Well, at least we know Old Rupert hasn't given up on Trump. This is an obscure and non-legal term that has been occasionally discussed in the academic world for the past decade and a half, and it applies with precision here. Stochastic terrorism, as described by a blogger who summarized the concept several years back, means using language and other forms of communication "to incite random actors to carry out violent or terrorist acts that are statistically predictable but individually unpredictable." http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/trumps-assassination-dog-whistle-was-scarier-than-you-think-w433615 Re: Trump did his thing today. I knew he wouldn't last. - Speedy - 08-10-2016 There are a thousand looneys out there. I doubt very much if Mr. Trump inspired even one more. They have been gunning for the current president ever since he illegally assumed office and they have been unsuccessful - so far. Re: Trump did his thing today.
