Pardon himself for what? For assassinating Trump, Vance, and other scoundrels the next time they cross his path? This will raise several very important questions: Can the president pardon himself? Is such a pardon even necessary, since he can claim immunity for undertaking these actions as part of his duties in defense of the Constitution? /sarcasm Re: Hunter gets his pardon! - Lemon Drop - 12-02-2024 Janit wrote: I love that idea, and I think that if he were to give his reasons for doing so, it would pass muster with most. Leaves firearm in his vehicle unsecured. Firearm taken by his SIL and thrown away in a public trash can. Fortunately, it was found by someone with a conscience and turned into the authorities. Then Secret Service shows up at the gun store to get the shop's copy of the federal form (Secret Service has no authority in this - it's ATF's responsibility). And the President pushed for more gun control laws. Both sides of the aisle are out of control. Re: Hunter gets his pardon! - special - 12-02-2024 Both sides of the aisle are out of control. Re: Hunter gets his pardon! - SteveG - 12-02-2024 This topic has blown up the news. GOPers are using it as an excuse for Trump Jan 6 treason pardons, which he was going to do anyway. The politics of this are not even a rain drop compared to the hurricane of nightmares approaching in January. Re: Hunter gets his pardon! - NewtonMP2100 - 12-02-2024 .....I think he did the right thing.....Trump has done it many times over.... Both sides are exactly the same! Except there are a lot more convicted sex offenders on the R side. And there are a lot more criminal convictions for R administrations. And the Rs want to turn the US into a theocracy. Or a plutocracy. Or a kakistocracy. And.... Re: Hunter gets his pardon! - NewtonMP2100 - 12-02-2024 ...I think Biden did it in case Trump decides to try to go after Hunter when he becomes President.... "Should I pardon my son agains an absolutely rabid enemy?" Comparing Biden choice to a man that should be found guilty of treason and hung by the neck until dead.
