When asked whether an official could be fired as a result of the Signal chat, Trump said: "We pretty much looked into it. It's pretty simple, to be honest... it's just something that can happen. It can happen, you can even prepare for it, it can happen."
"We always want to use the best technology. This was the best technology for the moment. But again, it wasn't classified. So they probably viewed it as being something that wasn't that important," said Trump.
A reporter asked: Do you think that Mike Waltz made a mistake and needs to apologize?
"I don't think he should apologize, I think he's doing his best. It's equipment and technology that's not perfect and probably he won't be using it again, at least not in the very near future," said Trump.

When asked about the leaked Signal group chat, Trump said:
"Well, I think it's a question I've been asked now and I've given a few answers, and they've all been the same. We have an amazing group. Our national security now is stronger than it's ever been. We have had a very, very successful numerous attacks in that area... There was no classified information as I understand it."

I wonder if Goldberg has revealed, by showing Signal screen shots, all of the conversations he witnessed, would he then be charged with revealing classified material "that was never in the Signal app".

The last I saw, he said that IF he releases the entire conversation, it will be to the Intelligence Committee, not to the entire Congress nor to the public.
And yes, I believe that he would be charged with something if he shared the entire transcript. He said he is talking to "lawyers" [plural] about what he might do next.
