In TV news, objectivity does not exist, period. On air tech reporters are in the hinterland when it comes anything resemblng journalism. Are tech reporters even under any professional obligation to be objective and unbiased? I thought they could even be paid to feature a product by name, sorta like a mini infomercial.

For years, we've had a tech reporter for a major newspaper who definitely did not like Macs. His Mac coverage was bitingly sarcastic and generally unkind. Then, he was given a MacBook to evaluate for a couple of months. As soon as it was returned, he bought a MacBook of his own and he loves it. He now is very positive about his Mac experiences even though there have been some glitches. His coverage of Apple products has also increased and, believe it or not, he is now going to be the featured speaker at the local Mac user group this month. Chances are that your local reporter has never (or almost never) used a Mac. Pity the poor idiot......

While tracking "mis-information", it may also be interesting to note who the advertisers are during that show. I'll wager Apple is not one of them.
