Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - cbelt3 - 09-03-2008 Yet another Democrap who thinks that all children should be aborted before (or at) birth so they avoid embarrassing their parents. Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - PeterB - 09-03-2008 deco, I don't think that's the same thing. Obama has stated that children should be off-limits, when the issues had already been brought up. billb's comment was (to my mind) insinuating or implying something, given that the issue hadn't been brought up yet, that the bar in question was a lesbian bar. Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - robfilms - 09-03-2008 [quote karsen]Have you no shame? How would you feel if the press went after your kids? maybe if palin and the bush/mccain folks didn't use the palin kids like political props portraying the "perfect" american family implying that mom palin is the "perfect" person for the veep position, then photos of her 17yr old, pregnant, underage drinking, high school drop-out daughter wouldn't be posted on the web. once again, the issue is judgement-i'm not talking about the daughter but palin's judgement. i imagine her definition of "family values" differs from many americans, including my own. ymmv be well rob Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - rgG - 09-03-2008 rob, All politicians use their kids as props. Think of the photo of JFK with John John under the desk in the oval office. Apparently JFK didn't have any moral issues with cheating on his wife, now did he, yet he was portrayed as the perfect family man. Don't be too quick to throw those stones at a parent for actions of the child. I do not like Palin as a VP for many reasons, but none of us know enough about her personal family life to blame her for her daughter's actions. There are plenty of things to vilify her for that directly relate to politics. Criticize her for those things and leave her daughter out of it, like your candidate rightly suggested. Obama and and Biden are no exception and their kids shouldn't be dragged through this sort of filth anymore than Palin's. Leave the kids out of it. Hell, even the mafia knows family is off limits. And I bet Palin's views on family values resonate with more Americans than you think. Her daughter's pregnancy has no relevance to her being a good mother or her views on family values. Even the best parents in the world have kids that make major mistakes growing up. Being a great parent isn't about raising perfect children, it's about being there for them when they need you most. Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - Black Landlord - 09-03-2008 [quote karsen]Her daughter's pregnancy has no relevance to her being a good mother or her views on family values. Are you serious? Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - robfilms - 09-03-2008 rgG- i appreciate your position and agree...to a point. in no way does daughter palin need to be questioned about her behavior. that is the role of her parents and every family has their own way of doing things and it is not my role to judge (unless there is danger to the child but that is for another thread.) i do take exception of the use of the family as props. it is one thing to show the kids, it is another thing to talk about the older child is off to iraq and what a good american family we are and blah, blah, blah. candidate palin puts her kids out there front and center, put them out there, someone will ask a question. if that road is taken, then there is going to be some scrutiny. this was true for the bush daughters, the ford sons, the kennedy kids. that is what happens at the national level. you don't want it, then don't run for national office. for me this palin fiasco again is not about the action of the daughter, BUT the reckless decision by mccain not to realize/know that such a powerful piece of information---a pregnant 17yr old, high school drop out, who drinks under age is bound to find its way into the public stream of information. not anticipating that shows very poor judgement by mccain and the people he surrounds himself with. that is what i take from the daughter palin part of the equation. and then there's the rest of the story: palin's supposed qualifications...but again, that is for another posting. be well rob Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - Grateful11 - 09-03-2008 There's really sweet ones on here, she seems like a nice sweet innocent young woman to me, I give the marriage 2 years max. http://www.stupidsheeple.com/index.php/2008090140/latest/bristol-palin-gone-wild.html Re: Bristol Palin, teen drinker - kj - 09-04-2008 What's weird is that those pics don't even look like they're all of the same girl. Btw, I spent a couple weeks up in Homer this summer, and most of the kids look like that. _Really_ rough. kj. One of the sites I looked at said they were of her fiance's sister. |
