Plugins going back to the origins of iTunes expand upon that utility by making iTunes "think" that one of those old music players is connected even where there's actually a modern music player attached. Is it wrong to hook into that old code to sync modern music players? If so, why? If not then what makes Palm's masquerading as an iPod so different?
