Re: So - think there's any way these pilots are NOT getting fired? - decocritter - 10-24-2009 Years ago a relative had a private plane and pilot (really good looking guy and nice). I was flown from New Orleans to Houston (relative was back in N.O). Pilot asked me to dinner to a very trendy Mexican Restaurant. While waiting for dinner at the bar, the Pilot did 4 shots of Tequila in a row, and ordered a pitcher of Margaritas. After about 10 minutes of trying to talk to this guy, I did a shot of Teguila, went to the Hostess, called a cab, and left that guy in the bar without a word. I called my relative, and told him I would not let that guy fly my plane home tomorrow, or ever again. He was fired promptly. A year or so later he was flying (drunk) for someone else and went into restricted airspace in D.C., where he was arrested upon landing. Not easy for the 100 people in the back on an airplane to be "back-seat drivers". |
