I paid about $1200 for an Audi Fox. Way too much, but a fun ride… FWD and a four speed ! Rebuilt that damn Solex carb twice. Once in my grandparents barn. Later paid $1100 for a 72 Chrysler . And a few years later paid $500 for a 68 Chevy staton wagon.

The Fox was a fun car to drive. My neighbor had one. Tried to get him to sell it to me.

A Vega you got for free was a money loser.

I learned that, it lasted 6 years. It was the only American made/branded car that I ever owned. Mazda, Nissan and Toyota ever since then.

1965 Chevy Nova Station Wagon purchased in summer of 1976 for $300 (that I had saved form my newspaper route) from a kid that was shipping out in the navy.

283 with a powerglide. I spent LOTS of money on it at good old SuperShops over the next few years. Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 650cfm 4 barrel Holley carb, Simpson headers and dual exhaust. Had the Distributor recurved at REATH Racing Engines on Cherry avenue. Added a TH350 transmission with a home built linkage to keep the shifter on the column. and most importantly a Audiovox FM convertor and some 6x9 speakers to rock out!

Sadly the car was totaled early one Sunday morning, as I headed off to work, when I got T-boned by a drunk running a red light in his 3/4 ton chevy pickup truck doing about 60MPH!
