Sad news indeed. I remember when the Lope passed on- and have lost cyberfrends from other lists - people we have never met, though we do count them as friends.

You'll notice from the rest of that thread (which got a little ugly) that Roger F & Mint were friends
even though they were on opposite sides of many issues including the Cubs vs. The Red Sox.
They liked to argue with each other ... like an old married couple
I'm sure Roger will be one of those that will miss him the most

I sent Alpha Dog a PM earlier. As we did with The Lope, I think it would be nice to do a MRF memorial contribution in 'Minty's honor to a group that was meaningful to him.
I have volunteered to coordinate the effort and we'll keep you posted. Feel free to PM me if you like.

Aw, man—I'd been hoping he was getting some help with his problems.
I always looked forward to his posts, off-the-wall as some of them were.
I'll miss him.

I liked Mint. I didn't realize he was "that" ill. Talk about a shot from left field.
With Mint up there, I'm betting on the Cubs for sure, now.

This is so sad. I didn't even know him but know he was a big presence here every time I was on.
