The core issue here is not the quality of the standard (it'll be gone and forgotten in the blink of an eye) but that a company that produces defective crap and has everyone convinced it's "quality" by having repeated the word "quality" over and over, and has a history of trying to force its proprietary technology on consumers for decades just as everyone's invested in a different technology, has been allowed to do it again. Again, Sony was spearheading the BD effort and the main producer of blue laser drives, but it is NOT the sole owner of the format (like it was for Beta or Toshiba for HD-DVD). Please see the link for Blu-Ray Association I provided above. BTW, I have a Panasonic player and my next one is probably going to be Pioneer. I do not buy Sony products. |
