Geez, no one really famous in my fam, unless you consider Great Grand Dad who rode with the Maine Cavalry during the Civil War.
Family history says he lined up after one of the large battles to be inspected by President Lincoln.
He came home from the war at 49 years old and took a 16 year old bride.
I remember Great Granny, she lived to be 107. Her daughter, (my Grandmother) got peeved with my older brother after a visit. When it was time to leave, my bro said: "Goodbye Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandma!" Our Grandma told him: "Oh, she isn't that great!" Just as she said it, she realized what she said.
We all had a tremendous laugh!

“Pack” Duncan, Civil War scout.
Escaped from slavery, joined the Union Army, became a scout. During the war eventually went back to his master’s holdings and killed him. Gathered up his love and her mother and rode off with them riding his late master’s best horse.
Retired out of the army after he was wounded in the side by a saber thrust from a confederate general and left for dead. Became a cobbler after the war, and for a time had a small town named after him; eventually absorbed into a larger town.
