Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - BCam - 01-15-2008 Movies: Looks like Steve's done it again. All Studios on board. Prices fixed and reasonable. HD a buck more. To quote Keith Jackson: "Whoa Nelly!" Well done Mr. Jobs. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - rgG - 01-15-2008 [quote rjmacs]Oh god it's happening. These announcements aren't for the faithful. They're for the MASSES. That's why so many people call it the "iPod Store". Yuck. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - Chupa Chupa - 01-15-2008 MASSES = MONEY. But can't we save the B&M session for after the show? Let's get to one more thing. That's always the pay off anyway. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - michaelb - 01-15-2008 I'd like a dvd player and/or blue ray disk player in that apple TV. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - guitarist - 01-15-2008 "Seems to only come with one HD, so no redundancy." If you were looking for Apple to build a RAID server into an Airport Extreme, or dual drives, for "redundancy", this is a tad unrealistic, don't ya think? Keep in mind, tools like Time Machine are aimed at the overwhelming majority of computer users who've still never backed up ANYthing on ANY kind of external device or media. This should make it even easier. Just the fact that a modern OS has a user-friendly backup tool built in is already a major breakthrough for the non-geek community (representing the OTHER 90% of Apple users, millions of people) I'd say that a Time Capsule---hardware to support the software---is an impressive step in the right direction. The rest of us geeks and hobbyists can take care of our own backup strategies and advanced redundant arrays, etc. For regular users, I think this is a cool addition to Apple's lineup. Um, that ship sailed about 2 years ago. Last year was the nail in the coffin. MacWorld is not about new Mac products as much as it is about all the other Apple, Inc. products. WWDC and "special announcements" have become the exclusive territory of Mac (save for the occasional "special announcement" that's iPod related, but even those have now dwindled as the iPod product cycle has settled on a MWSF timeline). ~A Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - M A V I C - 01-15-2008 [quote michaelb]I'd like a dvd player and/or blue ray disk player in that apple TV. Yeah, but if I can play the movies in itunes, that means I can watch them on my media PC. No new player needed for me. Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - rjmacs - 01-15-2008 [quote michaelb]I'd like a dvd player and/or blue ray disk player in that apple TV. And kill their own market share? They want to rent you the movies you already have, not make it easier for you to watch them! ![]() Re: Official Keynote Post It Here Thread ! - pRICE cUBE - 01-15-2008 [quote smacks]The fanboys are getting restless... I prefer the term "Mac Cultists" or "Leader devotee" thank you very much. |
