Selling my iPhone 3GS on eBay - anything to watch out for? - stephen - 07-19-2010

Require PayPal, require US address, check bidder feedback.

Any new scams I need to be aware of?

if i were you i would sell on Craigslist.
cash only. write an honest upfront ad
and people will know you are the real deal

you will likely net more money..

but if you choose to go ebay.. as long as you get yr
money thru paypal, you have your bases covered.

Set a high price if you do Buy It Now. I set $300 for mine (16GB), and it sold in 20 minutes.

Document your iPhone HEAVILY so they cannot claim it doesn't work when they get it.

Make a date-stamped video if you can. Record the serial number, etc.

Ship with full insurance and require a signature. Pack in double boxes - video that as well.

LOTS of scammers these days...

Sold my 3gs in 3 hours on Craigs list. No Paypal or Ebay fees. Good green dollars.

I also recommend trying Craigslist first. I sold my two 3G for $240 and $230. Both sold within a couple of hours of placing the ads. Cash in hand, no eBay or PayPal fees or headaches.

I'd also recommend doing a jailbreak and unlock on it. Advertise it as working on T-mobile and AT&T. I sold both of my phones to T-mobile users.

Too late. I have bids already, auction ends today on eBay.

With Craigslist it really depends where you live. I live in Boulder, big tech town, and 3gs' 32gigs are going for $200...

Ebay $300
