*death bed = no longer running for office.
This is about an oil company sponsored initiative on the November California ballot. One that will effectively cancel-out previously existing law controlling the amount of pollution allowed petroleum producers.
The trackable money behind the proposition comes from little known oil companies based in Mexico but will benefit all oil producing interests. Waiting for Shell, BP or Mobil to come out with ads opposing the initiative.

Well, Ahnold was always a bit of a loose cannon. I don't think the repubs ever truly believed he was one of them.
