I don't know. The new Apple TV is cheap to make and has low power requirements. Apple's profit model with the new Apple TV is renting so the more Apple TVs out there, the more money they make.

And the new Apple TV itself has no moving parts. Well, other than the little plastic door on the optical port. So it should be very reliable.

i think internet tv will compete with cable tv before the box is integrated into the tv.

Can you really compare the Apple TV to Nexflix streaming? Netflix streaming has been built into various devices, but what it it really? Hardware, software, both?
